Shipping Process
Here is a step-by-step look at what happens immediately after a Strategic partner has placed an order with Summit Franchise Supply (SFS).
Our warehouse in San Antonio, TX, is owned and operated by Summit Franchise Supply and fulfills approximately 60 percent of the items you order; the remaining lower volume items are packed and fulfilled by any one of the remaining six to eight manufacturers, also acting as fulfillment centers in many cases.
Once you have completed the checkout process on the SFS website, in real-time, the fulfillment center that holds your specific ordered item is automatically triggered, and you are immediately sent an order confirmation from SFS. At that time, an invoice number is generated, and a packing slip is created at each fulfillment center. In cases where you have ordered multiple items and multiple fulfillment centers are involved in fulfilling those items, each center is notified and begins processing your order. Your order is automatically marked “fulfilled” when all fulfillment centers in possession of the ordered items have been notified that there is an outstanding order. Each warehouse first processes and then packs the items needed to fulfill the order, and then ships directly to you. Keep in mind that only the items being shipped out of the fulfillment center are printed on their packing slip.
It is recommended that, for ease of placing, tracking, and receiving orders that you print out a copy of your order when placing it, as you will want to reference your entire order to ensure you have received everything you ordered, and check off items as they are received
The SFS fulfillment center has a 1 to 2 business day turnaround, while other fulfillment centers have a 3 to 7 business day turnaround.
If one or more items you have ordered are temporarily not available, those items are placed into a back-order system, which is tracked digitally and manually. We clear back-ordered items as we replenish inventory; we pride ourselves on getting you your entire order in a timely fashion. As we close out back-ordered items, we will send you a shipping notification. In the unlikely event the manufacturer or vendor can no longer supply us with the item on back-order, we will notify you immediately and refund the back-ordered item to you
